Yoga can help.

Learn to synchronize your mind, body and breath to reduce risk of injury and sustain healthy movement for life.

Stress, injury and illness can limit our daily lives. Basic tasks like walking to the car, sitting at work, or lifting that heavy bag of groceries —even breathing—can become difficult and sometimes painful. These physical limitations can have a negative impact on our emotions, energy and attitude.

I am a certified Holistic Yoga Therapist™, RYT500, Accessible Yoga Teacher and owner of a private yoga studio in Vancouver, WA. During your yoga class I will collaborate with you to identify what has led you to feel this way and discover how to help you feel more at ease. We will review your daily movement patterns to learn how to increase your mobility, build strength, enhance flexibility and promote balance.

Client Reviews

After retiring I had joined a gym and watched some yoga classes but felt too intimidated to actually join in. After reviewing Yoga Mojo on Facebook numerous times I decided to give them a call and I am so happy I did. After 40 plus years of working primarily at a desk my posture was not good and I suffered low back problems. Moriah has given me the tools and techniques that has helped me so much. She listened to my needs and always encouraged me to let her know what was bothering me and where I might feel pain. I highly recommend Moriah as she is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and a great listener. She has exceeded all of my expectations. Thank you so much Moriah!

I came to Yoga Mojo and Movement Therapy to address back pain brought on by sitting for too many hours in cramped airplane seats. Moriah quickly and professionally recognized that the problems stemmed as much from the shoulders and legs as from the back. Using her knowledge of biomechanics as well as her extensive yoga training, she shared a series of exercises that addressed the pain. More importantly, Moriah showed me how to recognize the signals my body was giving so that I could adjust my posture at the first sign of discomfort, thereby avoiding the stiffness and pain that I previously experienced during long trips. I continue to attend sessions with Moriah, and each time I learn something new. Whether I arrive exhausted, stiff, or sore, I always leave feeling refreshed. I highly recommend Yoga Mojo and Movement Therapy.

I never thought that I could do yoga. I didn't think that I was strong enough, flexible enough, nor had the balance for it. But with Moriah working with me I am on my way to being a more fit, more mindful person. She takes me from where I am and pushes me to go a little further each time we work out. The tools that she gives me to improve on translate into tools that I can use in everyday life. I look forward to each workout session knowing that Moriah will have thought about the next steps for me. I am SO glad I found her. The very best hour I spend each week!

My husband and I have both been working with Moriah for 6 months. We LOVE her approach. Both of us have struggled with back and/or neck pain to varying degrees. Moriah is fantastic at figuring out where you are and what you need. We have been able to incorporate methods and tools (mats, blankets, balls, bands) into our home life so that we can continue her work at home. Slowly over time we are more relaxed, better at breathing, less painful, more active, and exhibiting better posture. We will continue Restorative Yoga with Moriah because it really makes a difference in our overall health and wellness.

Moriah is an amazing yoga therapist. She taught me things about my gait that I'd never noticed -- and in the process helped me change it and get rid of some nerve pain! She also helped me improve some of my yoga postures and took me through an amazing restorative yoga practice that left me more relaxed than a massage. I highly recommend her!

Holistic Yoga Therapy

I want to inspire you to move and feel better in your own body.

I use a holistic approach to see and treat you as a whole person – physically, mentally and emotionally – with the goal of empowering your innate ability to self-heal. We are so much more than our injuries, our limitations, our pain. I want to help you find the cause, and not just treat your symptoms.

There’s a reason that both ancient wisdom and current research approach the human body holistically as a union of mind, body and breath. All three are vitally important, and I approach each during a private yoga class:

Isaac and Laura practice mindfulness and meditation techniques in a private yoga class at Yoga Mojo & Movement Therapy in Vancouver, WA

It can be easy to set aside thoughts of how we feel. We rush from one thing to the next, until finally something nags at us loudly enough that we can’t help but turn all of our attention to it.

Pain, fatigue, stress, illness or injury can set in and take over our thoughts, turning them negative. By bringing awareness to what IS working, we can set the foundation to empower your healing process.

Self-care techniques are taught in all-levels yoga classes in Vancouver, WA at Yoga Mojo & Movement Therapy serving all of Clark County and the Portland, OR metro

Compensations (such as a tucked position of the pelvis) can make it uncomfortable to walk, sit, stand and pick things up. These issues can develop from stress, injury, illness or just daily life.

During your private yoga class, we identify your compensations, and learn how to re-pattern them to enhance your mobility, build strength, and increase balance and flexibility.

Pranayama, or breathing techniques, are taught in every private yoga class in Vancouver, WA at Yoga Mojo & Movement Therapy serving Camas, Fishers Landing, Minnehaha, Hazel Dell, Felida, Salmon Creek, Ridgefield, Hockinson, Battle Ground, La Center, Washougal, Fir Crest, Cascade Park East, Orchards, Proebstel, Livingston, Brush Prairie, Five Corners, Orchards, Cougar and Portland, Oregon

Breath is the genesis of movement, beginning at the deepest level of our beings. When we develop dysfunctional breathing patterns, our body’s ability to move and to heal becomes limited.

Initiating a practice of mindful breathing can reconnect us with our very essence, enable us to reduce stress, enhance healing and return to a more balanced, well-connected self.

Yoga for Pain Relief

As a certified Holistic Yoga Therapist, my approach during your private yoga class is to zoom out and see you as a whole person – body, mind and spirit – before we zoom in.

Pain is highly subjective and can be emotional and/or physical. What I consider painful, you may not. Pain may be something you are experiencing due to a current injury, or perhaps chronic pain has developed from a surgery or injury you had long ago. Sometimes, chronic pain can correspond to feelings of anxiety and depression.

During your private yoga class, we’ll learn not only what isn’t working in your body and causing you pain, but what IS working. Then we will start to explore new ways of moving, feeling and breathing.

Healing with Yoga

We are healing every second of every day, regardless of age or ability.

I cannot heal you. I can, however, give you the tools to empower and guide your self-healing processes by bringing awareness back to your thoughts, body and breath.

During your private yoga  class, we will learn what your patterns are, discover what may be hindering you from your movement goals, and explore new ways of breathing, moving and thinking to open up new possibilities for you.
