Breathing Practice for Calm Mind & Body

Your breath can calm you faster than anything else.

Breathing practice? It may seem silly to practice something you do automatically, everyday. However when we become stressed, the rhythm of the breath changes. When we’re chronically stressed – our breathing pattern can become restricted and communicate a loop of stress from body to brain and back again.

With a little mindfulness we can quickly alter our breathing pattern to disrupt the stress response and create a sense of calm. In this video you will learn pranayama (breathing) techniques to help quiet your mind and make you feel more grounded. Afterwards you can go about your day less stressed and ready to take on whatever comes your way.

This breathing practice, or pranayama, can help stop the cycle of stress. Learn to create a sense of calm and become more fully grounded so you can move forward from a place of serenity and equanimity.

She owns Yoga Mojo & Movement Therapy in Vancouver, WA, where she offers holistic yoga therapy and private yoga classes customized for each client and their specific needs. Moriah is passionate about helping people move more comfortably on a daily basis with the energy to enjoy family, community and the world around us. She believes that every individual can benefit from yoga because the practice is accessible to everyone and teaches us how to sustain healthy movement for life. Moriah lives in Camas, Washington with her best friend and husband Bret Canfield and their two furry kids: a couch potato Pitbull named Rookie, and a sweet and sassy green-eyed cat named Evie.
